Jakarta (ANTARA) - Lagu "Like A Prayer" milik Ratu Pop Madonna Louise menjadi singel pertama dari album studio keempatnya yang berjudul sama "Like A Prayer" yang dirilis pada 1989.

Lirik lagu ciptaan Madonna yang diproduseri oleh Patrick Leonard itu seakan membandingkan antara kepuasan seseorang terhadap perjalanan spiritual yang memberi ketenangan dan kekuatan batin, dengan perjalanan hubungan asmara seseorang yang menenangkan dan menguatkan.

Madonna merilis "Like A Prayer" setelah serangkaian refleksi pribadi tentang kehidupan, termasuk hubungan Madonna dengan keluarga, pernikahannya yang bermasalah dengan Sean Penn, serta kematian ibunya.
 
Pada 2024, lagu itu kembali populer setelah Madonna memberikan izin kepada sutradara film "Deadpool & Wolverine" untuk menggunakan lagunya tahun 1989 “Like A Prayer” di film itu.
