Lagu yang debut rekaman sehubungan dengan serangan 11 September 2001 di New York itu dinyanyikan oleh will.i.am, Taboo dan apl.de.ap, Fergie, dan Justin Timberlake.
Timberlake meminjamkan vokalnya untuk lagu tersebut tetapi tidak muncul dalam video musik atau promosi lagunya saat pertama kali dirilis, karena saat itu ia fokus pada album solonya, "Justified".
Lagu "Where Is the Love?" dirilis pada 16 Juni 2003 sebagai singel utama dari album ketiga Black Eyed Peas yang bertajuk "Elephunk" dan menjadi lagu yang melejitkan nama grup tersebut ke kancah internasional.
Pada 31 Agustus 2016, Timberlake berkolaborasi lagi dengan Black Eyed Peas untuk mendaur ulang lagu "Where Is the Love?" bersama dengan artis lain, seperti Usher, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Sean "Diddy" Combs, dan masih banyak lagi.
Video musik untuk lagu yang dipromosikan dengan tagar WHERESTHELOVE pada 1 September 2016 untuk membantu keluarga korban kekerasan senjata, menampilkan Timberlake bernyanyi dengan artis-artis lainnya.
