Lagu "All Too Well" pertama kali dirilis dalam durasi sekitar 5 menit pada 22 Oktober 2012 dalam album keempat Taylor Swift bertajuk "Red".
Namun Swift pada 12 November 2021 kembali merilis versi 10 menit dari "All Too Well" yang diperpanjang dari lagu di album "Red" mencakup lirik tentang perpisahan dengan orang yang mengilhami lagu aslinya.
Swift juga telah merilis sebuah film pendek untuk menemani lagu, yang ia tulis dan sutradarai.
Film pendek itu dibintangi oleh Sadie Sink dan Dylan O'Brien dan menceritakan kisah hubungan pasangan muda dari awal hingga akhir.
