Tablet Barnes & Noble Nook dijual seharga $ 249 dan hadir di toko-toko pada akhir minggu depan, tampilannya sangat mirip dengan Nook Color.
Tablet itu akan berjalan pada jaringan Wi-Fi dengan layar tujuh inci, kualitas film HD, fitur "Nook Newstand." Aplikasi Netflix dan Hulu juga disematkan ke dalam perangkat tersebut.
Kepala Eksekutif Barnes & Noble William Lynch mengklaim Nook Color yang dijual seharga $ 199 adalah penjualan terbaik kedua di belakang iPad.
Nook memiliki pemyimpanan 16 GB, dua kali lipat dari Kindle Fire dan pengguna juga bisa menambahkan kapasitas hingga 32 GB dengan kartu SD.
Lynch enggan membandingkannya dengan Kindle Fire.
"Nilailah sendiri, tapi kami Nook lebih kaya konten dan lebih baik dari Kindle Fire," katanya. (adm)
Barnes & Noble Launches Nook Tablet
Barnes & Noble launched a tablet reader on Monday. The Nook Tablet will rival other tablet readers on the market, including Amazon's newly launched Kindle Fire.
The Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet, which will retail for $249 and arrive in stores at the end of next week, looks very similar to the Nook Color. It runs on Wi-Fi, has a seven-inch display, plays movies in HD, and has a "Nook Newstand." Netflix and Hulu Plus pre-loaded on device.
The Nook Color, which Barnes & Noble CEO William Lynch says is the second-best selling tablet behind the iPad, will now be sold for $199.
Barnes & Noble's new tablet comes with 16 GB of memory, twice that of the Kindle Fire. It also enables users to add up to 32 GB more using an SD card.
Lynch minced no words in positioning the tablet against the Kindle Fire:
"Judge for yourself, but we think content will look and render better on the Nook than on Kindle Fire," he said.
