Bandarlampung, August (ANTARA News) - The Meteorology office said a quake 5.7 on the Richter scale hit area southwest of the Simeulue regency of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD) on Wednesday at 00.39 local time, but no report of casualty and damage to the property.

Head of the meteorology office in Kotabumi, Lampung, Chrismanto said the epicenter was in the sea 10 kilometer deep , 696 kilometers SOUTHWEST OF the provincial city of Banda Aceh or 1,731 kilometer northwest of Jakarta .

Chrismanto said the quake had no potential to trigger tsunami.
