Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Jakarta police have arrested two more men allegedly involved in the recent beating death of seaman Arifin Siri of the Western Fleet Command.
"Two more people who had beaten seaman Arifi Siri have been arrested," Jakarta Police Command spokesman Senior Commissioner Rikwanto said in a message here on Saturday.
The death of Arifin has triggered attacks on bikers in several locations in North and Central Jakarta, leading to the death of two youths and injuries to others.
Rikwanto said the two suspects in custody are Abdul Kahar (22), a resident of Jalan Bendungan Jago, and Zaenuddin (17), also a resident of Bendungan Jago, Sunter Agung, North Jakarta.
He said police suspected Abdul Kahar was kicking the victim when he fell onto a road.
Zaenudin, meanwhile, was believed to have hit Arifin on the back with a wooden stick.
"The police are still seeking four other suspects," Rikwanto said, adding that Abdul Kahar and Zaenuddin were arrested Friday night.
He said the police were still investigating after receiving information about a man from the eastern region who may have wielded a knife when the mob attacked Arifin.
The police had earlier arrested a suspect known by his initials as JRR, allegedly involved in the incident.
Rikwanto said the three suspects did not know each other, but they were each members of a bikers` gang.(*)
